At Rolleston Caravans, we aim to supply quality caravan parts, accessories, and vehicles that are fit for purpose and compliant with New Zealand regulations. This policy explains your rights and our obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA) and the Fair Trading Act 1986.


1. Caravans & Vehicles

  • All completed caravan and motorhome sales are final.
  • Due to compliance requirements and their bespoke nature, caravans cannot be returned for change of mind once purchased.

2. Your Rights Under the Consumer Guarantees Act

Under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, you are entitled to a remedy if goods:

  • Are faulty or not of acceptable quality,
  • Do not match their description, or
  • Are not fit for their intended purpose.

Depending on the situation, remedies may include:

  • Repair,
  • Replacement, or
  • Refund (for major faults).

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the CGA.

3. Electrical & Safety-Critical Items

  • Electrical and safety-critical items (e.g. lighting, solar gear, batteries, appliances, 12V/240V systems) cannot be returned for change of mind once installed, connected, tested, or used.
  • If such an item is faulty, it will be handled under the Consumer Guarantees Act.

4. Change-of-Mind Returns (14 Days)

We offer change-of-mind returns on eligible accessory products provided that:

  • You notify us within 14 days of delivery or collection,
  • The item is unused and in as-new condition,
  • All original packaging, manuals, labels, and protective films are intact,
  • The item is returned at the customer’s cost.

Restocking Fee: A 10% restocking fee may apply.

5. Incorrect or Damaged Items

If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, you must notify us within 24 hours of delivery with photos and order details so we can arrange a remedy.

6. Custom & Special-Order Items

  • Items made to order, customised, or specially sourced for you are non-returnable for change of mind.
  • If such goods are faulty, your CGA rights still apply.

7. Non-Returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned for change of mind:

  • Installed parts,
  • Opened safety-critical items,
  • Custom or special-order products,
  • Clearance or “final sale” items.

8. Warranty & Faulty Goods

All goods are covered by the Consumer Guarantees Act and any applicable manufacturer warranty.

Warranty does not cover:

  • Misuse or neglect,
  • Installation damage,
  • Unauthorised modifications,
  • Normal wear and tear.

9. How to Return an Item

  1. Contact us first to authorise the return,
  2. Provide proof of purchase,
  3. Return the item with all packaging and accessories.

10. Refund Processing

  • Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method.
  • Shipping charges are not refunded unless the return is due to our error or a CGA fault.
